The flat we rent has loads of Halogen 35w 2 fork lightbulbs. I want to try and reduce my electricity usage and wondered if it is possible to get energy saving lightbulbs of this size to fit into the sockets that would work as a good alternative and reduce our bills. Here is a photo of one of the lightbulbs that are currently being used, there are about 8 of them altogether. Any recommendations would be apprecaited.

How long to recuperate cost of new bulbs??
If the Halogen 'needs' to be replaced ( bulb failure ) would/perhaps save
money, chucking good bulbs away ??? can that be green0 -
Yes goggle 'megaman' make those and they are not far from original size. We have 4 in a bedroom and they been going for over a year now without problems0

This came up on the Gas and Elec board but I can't find the thread. Try these, though:

If you're smart, you keep the old bulbs and replace them back into the fittings when you move house in case they can be used again elsewhere (note OP said they were renting).Make £2024 in 2024

Slinky......what a good idea !!!!
However if you were one of my tenants and did this I would replace all the duff bulbs add on a labour charge then deduct it off your deposit.
So it would not really be a good money saving idea then would it !!!!0
