Have you checked if either store runs a loyalty card scheme? At least you'd get vouchers/ponts that you could use later on.

Diy.com is the online storefront for B&Q. I've had a look on the site and can't find anything on it, but I'm sure they do their own store card? Quidco however does 6% cashback.

we went to b and q to buy a kitchen and other items on a wednesday and when I presented my 10% discount card was told I couldnt have it on such a large order,I started to walk out and was called back and told on this occasion they would allow it,
the only other way round it is to pay seperatly for each item and I they couldnt refuse you then, good luck

Just advertised on tele. Cant remember when it said it ends but its only on for a few days i think.
