Sainsbury's have the Philips one at 3 for £1 (normally 99p each) - or at least our Sainsbury's local do. They have a 10-year lifespan. Not sure about wattage.
Might be handy for those not near a Morrisons/Wickes.

I stocked up on energy saving bulbs when my local Tesco's was getting rid of a load a few months ago at... get this... ONE PENCE EACH!

They were Philips bulbs too IIRC.

Do you reckon they make much difference to your bills?
I think I only have 4 'normal' bulbs in my house, everything else is spotlights.

Dunelm Mill have also joined the party _party_

They are doing the Osram variety, 8w equivalent to 40w for 29p each , one thing to check on all energy saving bulbs (if it is important to you) is there colour temprature, some of the earlier bulbs had a cold bluish colour the new ones need to be 2700k or above to look warm and more like a 'normal' household bulb, these osrams are called 'warm white' which is the same kinda deal :D

These are also available online for home delivery +p&p or delivered at store for free:

  • Tesco's had both GE & Tesco Value evergy saver light bulbs (10 year life) at 5 for 40p (8p per bulb) last week in the Truro store. I haven't been to any other stores yet so not sure if they are anywhere else?

that is way cheaper than even a normal bulb, so I bought 10 for the cupboard :)
