My wife says that if I win the lottery, and move to Surrey, I would qualify for your services on all three points - instead of just the one.

Excellent rog2 - thanks for the giggle :A :rotfl:

This is a flying visit as I am supposed to be on my way out to do an MS assignment:rolleyes:

Lula - learn to like ironing, folks in Surrey pay others to do their ironing:j

Fed up today, gave early birthday present to my chap who chucked it back at me whining "I dont like stripey clothes let alone ties" I passed him my specs and told him to look at his blasted shirts as they were stripey.

Had to buy jump leads as my battery was dead so my chap jump started my car and cleared off on his visit, I waited until he was a about halfway down the lane and took the key out of the ingnition, not enough charge so I called him to come back and re-start my car:rotfl: Oh dear, the poor chap got in a bit of a mess because my car hasn't been cleaned for months and there is a silvery gunk on the battery to protect it from the damp.:rotfl:

    Well best dash...

Thanks Horace - let me correct that for you :

folks in Surrey did pay others to do their ironing - that's been a large part of my job for the last few years  & of those that are still paying many are no longer using a professional service but are now paying private individuals who are happy to work for below minimum wage... I am not  . My hours have more than halved in the last 6 months & competition is rife, lost 2 private customers due to their own redundancy, it's not being reported but round here small business' (including 2 other ironing services) are folding on a daily basis & it's all quite sh!it really. Cost of living extortionate, the most underfunded home county going & still the tories reign supreme ....

Hey ho, gives me plenty more time to come on here to rant, moan & BUMP :rotfl:

    Hi everybody.

Over the last few weeks we have had a number of "troll" attacks on the boards.

What is a Troll? A troll is a person that posts deliberately provocative, nasty or hurtful comments on threads. They may be a person with no previous connection to the board or someone that has created a pseudonym to get their point made.

If you should get a comment made on any thread you post asking for help and advice please realise this comment is not directed at you personally.
We really are all a lovely bunch here (oops, modest, sorry) so please ignore these nasty comments and continue to post here as normal.

what should i do if i get a comment made on my thread?

firstly do not respond to the comment as this invariably is what the person wants. At the bottom of the post, on the left hand side is a red "warning" triangle. Click this and then "send" the message that comes up. This will report the message to abuse who will review it's content and delete it.

The person we had this morning was particularly vile and nasty and please believe me is an extreme rarity here.
Above all PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE DO NOT LEAVE THE BOARDS. THIS SITE IS AN ASSET TO SO MANY, ESPECIALLY WHEN IT FEELS THE WORLD IS FALLING IN ON YOU. THERE IS SUCH A WEALTH OF ADVICE HERE TO BE HAD THAT THE COMMENTS OF ONE MUST NOT DETER YOU FROM AVAILING YOURSELF OF THE KNOWLEDGE HERE!!!!

It is testament to the work that martin has done and continues to do that so many people give their time knowledge and experience freely to others, without judgement, to lift people out of the depths of debt crisis

PLEASE DO NOT LET THE ACTIONS OF THE MINORITY RUIN THAT.

    Kind wishes
    P

    and a mid-evening BUMP :D
