you do that before the control and c

Yes I am .

It all goes wrong after I click back on the browser thingy, the bit I've already quoted just disappears .

Have decided that it's one of 2 things : 1 - I really am thick :rotfl: or 2 - My pc really is thick/broken/bluddy awkward.

Are you holding down theCRTL button when you press C

Have you tried using your mouse instead ?
Highlight textpress and hold left mouse botton
right click in reply box and paste

I'm not right good at double quoteing either

Textpress think I've sussed it, you lot all have swanky new clever laptop type thingys & i have an ancient old desktop , was using the mouse to do the right click & back browser bit .....:rolleyes:

to highlight text press and hold left mouse button

When you go to reply do you use the post quick reply button, if so use
the other one instead Go Advanced and theres a quote button that looks like this. that allows you to put
quotes in so what you could do is copy the text and put it between the quotes in the box.

So if you wanted to quote what i said in a post say this "Clios are great cars"
you would highlight all that text then do control & c then put it between the quotes and press control and v.
Do that twice and your done. Make sure you change the 2nd quote text to what ever you want..

quote 1 clios are great cars

quote 2 soopa doopa space troopa

you are both :A but lets face it ... I am the intellectual equivalent of 2 short planks when it comes to techno stuff I've tried all of your suggestions and just have to accept that on this one & only this one occasion I bow to your gender superiorityness when it comes to geeky things.
