nationwide - will they make offer

Options
Hi - we reserved a nationwide mortgage a few months ago and have been waiting for all the paperwork to come in (mainly employer's reference as I am on maternity leave - my company have been v slow). Since the initial offer, we provided a cheque to Nationwide for an extra £1999 for a new and better 5 yr fixed rate to be reserved. They cashed that last week, still no offer. This week they requested a recent payslip for my husband and employer's reference for me. That has now all gone off to them and we are waiting to hear back on the offer. Since then, their 90% LTV mortgages have been withdrawn. Are we likely to have an offer made to us? It is all v confusing and I am not sure why our cheque has been cashed as it was supposedly only payable upon offer.
many thanks

Sorry a few more details - this is through a broker. The broker contacted N/wide earlier this week and the case worker said to them that our case was a good one, they just needed a few bits to be provided and this was all standard. I think the payslip was just because they wanted an up to date one and the employer's reference was because they hadn't heard back from my employer. They also asked for a letter from me confirming i was going to go back to work. we had thought all the things they wanted hd been provided so were surprised to get this flurry of requests.

    The LTV is around 87%.

My husband has an excellent credit rating (999) and mine is good (911). Our salary ratios etc are all fine - they would lend us more than we are asking to borrow on salaries, it is the LTV that is the issue.

The valuation has all been done, we've filled in all the legal paperwork from Nationwide's solicitors. It is just the final offer doc we are waiting for.

The fee is paid upfront - and the funds taken straight away, not when the offer is issued

You should be fine as long as they get the payslip, reference etc.

Once they have that they will issue the offer letter. They will not issue the offer letter before this paperwork has arrived.

    They are not slow

They don't have all the paperwork - so they can't issue the offer letter

sorry i didnt mean to ask the question how it came accross! i meant are they slow ? i appreciate they dont have all the paperwork but its been some time since original contact was made with them hasnt it?

i see they do online applications too so guess that would speed things up!

I think we can see where the blame lies.

Nationwide, in my experience are not overly slow. Doing an online application will not speed things up if they are still missing the documents requested though

My company have been slow - but Nationwide did not make us aware that they were still waiting for anything until this week so I think they have rather been sitting on things as well, perhaps they are busy?! Everything else was submitted to them 3 months ago and as far as we were aware they were happy with a letter from the employer given then confirming that when i returned from maternity leave I would be back on standard Ts and Cs (given end of July).

It was only when we queried why the cheque had been cashed but no offer made yet that they said they were just waiting on a few things. btw, the fee for this mortgage was NOT payable upfront. Payslips etc were all provided ages ago so we were surprised to get these last minute requests from us - as was broker.

But offer came through this afternoon! - yippee!!
