Cheaper Virgin Active ?NHS discount?

I'm wanting to join my local Virgin Active (Sheffield).
I've seen the thread about health insurance, it looks very complicated and I don't think I'd keep up with it.
I've rung Virgin Active this morning and they quoted me £42.95 per month for a 12 month contract. I had heard they do a discount for NHS staff but the woman I spoke to didn't seem to think I could get the price any lowere than this.
Anyone else get it cheaper in Sheffield or know about the NHS discount?
