  • ! thing you could do is transfer your CC debit to an interest free card for 12 months plus which could help. I did that with Tescos and after the initial 12 months i then phoned them up to asked about any promotions and they offered me an additional 6 months interest free (so 18 months total) or 6.9% APR for the lifetime of the balance which is alot better than 18%

Can't get credit :( Credit rating is through the floor!

Just wanted to say goodluck and look forward to the diary, seems to help alot of folk - maybe I need one too instead of emptying my head into the 'what small things thread....'

Not being rude or anything I did one of these and some folk suggested some things -

If you ditched the entertainment (40), clothing (20), you could get rid of the 30% card in a couple months - or even a few other things like haircuts, presents, internet? if you have it at work anyway etc for just two months you'd have enough to pay the balance off and then save £8 a month from that card.

Did a SOA a bit back and just cutting out entertainment and some other bits we saved over 100 a month - we know its short term so it was a bit easier to make the ditch. Now if we do have a treat its out of my grocery budget - so I find myself eating more efficiently out of the cupboards to allow us the odd takeaway etc

But hey - good luck with it all - not in any way a critisim just a freindly observation xx

That's the figures I gave CCCS. In reality I spend nothing on entertainment/clothing/presents each month at the moment!

Thanks for all the help :)

when you did the cccs debt remedy plan what was the revised budget that they did for you?

when we did ours we had nothing for entertainment etc but on the budget they revised for us they had set us aside money for this.

Think those figures are very similar to what I put on CCCS. Do they amend your SOA at all?

  • Ok, so a quick update:

Friday - Received my information through from CCCS with a thing to send to them with my statements and things and also a letter to send to my creditors.

Saturday - Went to the cinema (unlimited card) and bought a few things from ASDA including 2.5kg of potatoes for 53p :D Did buy a sandwich out and squandered £3.50, which I feel so angry about now!!

Sunday - Stayed in all day, didn't spend a penny :D

Monday - Copied letter to send to creditors, need to phone HMV Card lot to get them to send me my statements. Not had one for a few months despite asking them to change my address THREE times now!! Had to buy weekly bus ticket for £12 so not a NSD for me :(

  • Tuesday - Usual go to work (with lunch made!) came home to find one of the Guinea Pigs had died, but a NSD anyways!

Wednesday - Looking through the reclaiming charges/PPI guides, hoping to be able to do some of these. Also written the HMV Card people to ask them to remove the £120 in charged they've added in the last 3 months, just because of having my address wrong! (I pay min by DD, but they'd not been taking enough!)

  • Got a letter back from HMV Card saying they'd refunded £75.00 of charges to my account :D

Also got another Default Notice from them, asking me to pay £0 within 17days! Not heard from any other creditors yet, other than HSBC loan who've told me I've missed a payment and a letter from HSBC saying they'd added £175 of bank charges to my account :(

FINALLY opened a new account with Co-Op and banked my work cheque today (got it 1st Nov!) so can finally go food shopping next week!!

My birthday next week, so going to my parents, borrowing OHs mum's car (she's paying for insurance) so just petrol to pay for, which is cheaper than the train/bus :)

All very quiet on the debt front so far, making my first payment on 1st December and sending token payments next week, so we'll see!!

Nice to read other people's experiences on here, give me hope! :D
