Experian Credit report

  • Hi babbit, probably so, but really don't worry about it, the only thing it would affect would be if you wanted to get new credit which I am sure is the last thing you would want anyway!, the only thing you need to be concerned with is sticking to your DMP and forget what they put on your file

Spot on - no more credit for me now - EVER ! Don't need it, don't want it.

I've even 'gone the other way now'. Before I would love going food shopping - not now, can't even be bothered !!!.

I just go down the local shops for what I need on a 2 day basis, everything is so fresh - yum, yum !!. Lost a bit of weight too !! - although family are beginning to starve a bit now  .

    xx

One last one does anyone know if it is worth getting the actual credit score?? Or am i wasting £5.99??
I believe that this is a waste of money. All lenders use different criteria to score you, so this number means very little.
And where is my scarey mortgage!!
I have no idea. I'd be tempted to stop paying it and see what happens! Though I think that would be a really bad idea!

  • only at the moment I would think, I have a few late payments on mine from last year that are still affecting me getting a 0% card (the egg one in my sig is hubby's) and that is the only adverse thing on my file.

I think they keep 3 years payment history on your file for lenders to view but they particularly look at the previous 12 months payment history, so by the time your default drops off, you'll be fine

Just an incredibly stupid question here - You mentioned Equifax as well as Experian. I just checked the Experian one, should I need to do both or are they duplicates of each other? Well I did warn you

    thanks

Different companies report to different CRA's so it is always worth checking both. I have been checking my credit reports for about 9 years now and have had my Natwest CC all that time. This has never appeared on my Experian credit report yet. I suspect that is because they didn't report to Experian at the time and it simply hasn't been picked up.

As to the OP and the mortgage not showing up on one this would be for the same reason I suspect. For the remortgaging I would think that from when your deal ends in 2010 to when the default clears in 2011 would be a potentially terrible time to get on a long term fixed rate! I would guess either a 1 year fixed deal or staying with the variable rate for a year and then looking again when the default has gone would be the way forward.
