I need some really nice 'Grandma' things for my MIL for Christmas. I'm not sure what Im looking for, maybe photo frames, or some personilise with a pic.
Anything online, or in Essex or Central London or Lakeside or Bluewater. Looking for anything upto 30 pounds really. Or any ideas would be great. Her granddaughter (my daughter) is one month old...

Is she a young grandma or an old grandma? What I mean is that my mum is quite a young grandma and likes anything like perfume or a dvd/cd but my mother in law is an old grandma who likes things like slippers and hot water bottle covers.2008 Comping ChallengeWon so far - £3010 Needed - £230Debt free since Oct 20040

she's an older grandma, but a v v proud grandma, its her first grandchild so my partner reckons something granny-ish would be nice....
i think slippers might depress her a little!!:A Boots Tart :A0 -

I was more thinking things with 'grandma' on or things like that if ya know what i mean... shes so proud of being a grandma! if only my mum was like that, being a granny depresses my mum cause shes only 44!:A Boots Tart :A0

How about the following book title
'The Good Granny Guide: Or How to Be a Modern Grandmother' by Jane Fearnley-Whittingstall?
It's available from Amazon.
Or perhaps a nice bone china mug or cup with Grandma printed on it.
I don't know if it's possible to get such a thing, but a photo album stating Granny's Photographs on the front cover is another idea. You could start it off with the first few photos of the baby & quickly allow her to add to it from photo's taken over Christmas. The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.
I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.0 -
this does not help you but i am also stuck for a gift. My grandma is 94 and im struggling to find something nice for her
any ideas would be great0 -
carphonewarehouse.com have things you can order online and get delivered,
i've just ordered for varoius people who are very hard to buy for but adore the kiddies a mug with a photo of your choice and 5 lines of wording, its 7.99 and only £1.50 p + p per order, they have also got 3 keyrings with pics in of your choice for £4.99 and mouse mats etc.
They deliver within 3/4 days as well, as have used them before.
I think any granny would love a personalised 'granny's first chirstmas mug',
hope this helps0 -
Last year I gave the grand parents a personalised calender - although you will be too late for this year it might be worth thinking about for next year.
I got it from the Rather Nice Company (hope this link works)
https://www.rathernice.co.uk/catalog/index.php?cPath=22
You send in 13 photos with the month you would like them to be printed (12 plus the cover) and they make them into a calender. Granny said it was the best present she had ever received!
As an alternative, I think I saw a calendar in M&S where you put your own photos in for each monthWaddle you do eh?0
