Barclycard mercers took over goldfish

my question is... in may i wrote to all my creditors and sent them cccs expenditure expense form which was done by the cccs on my behalf, most of the creditors accepted the £1 token gesture for a limited time, including Goldfish which used to be morgan stanley,, they sent me a letter goldfish in august accepting the token payment and stopped all chargs for a 12 mth period i have continued to send this payment each month as promised .
Now heres the question... Barclycard sent me a statement 2 wees ago with an amount of £701 saying the account was overdue, also Mercers debt collection sent me a letter with the same accout number on it for the same amount saying that they were collecting on behalf of barclycard...Now the problem is they say they now are in control of the GOLDFISH/MORGAN STANLEY debt which i owe, and i now owe them the money ?
The account number they are using (barclycard/mercers) regarding this account is not the same as the goldfish account number, they said they have got a new account number which is now on the barclycard statments /mercers letters regarding this debt, can they just start sending barclycard statments and putting new account numbers on them , regarding this old debt i owe goldfish , which they say they now own and i have to pay them,, and can they add interest and late payment fees onto the account because i am still only sending the £1 token payment which was agreed with goldfish which i have in writing

I had (have) Goldfish & Morgan Stanley cards and they have been taken over by Barclaycard. Mercers are dealing with them all but I can't say that I have noticed a change in the account numbers tho.

I had a morgan stanley card too, I had a letter about 2 months ago saying that Barclaycard were taking over and in due course I had another letter with my new barclaycard and then pin number.
I don't want to be with barclays (all the associations with Robert Mugable) so set the card aside and decided just to pay off the balance when the statement came. Inbetween I logged onto the morgan stanley website and it transferred me to ... barclays. so I rang them and said I was a morgan stanley customer and they told me I wasn't, if i didn't give them the barclaycard number they couldn't help me.

So sporty1 I would say you need to contact barclays with any transfer letters you have received and the 'new' account number. sounds like as your account was on hold you haven't been issued a new card and barclays have ignored the agreement in place and sent the account to their debt collectors.

Hopefully a phone call to explain you have an agreement in place will sort it out. Good Luck.

update HELP please,
i have wrote to barclaycard 4 weeks ago recorded delivery asking them, to send me proof of when they took this debt over from goldfish, and when they chose to change it to there Barclaycard statments with a new account number, i had a reply saying they woild reply within 28 days "as of yet they havnt"
i recieved today a letter from, POWER2CONTACT, who have said basically because there has been no recent contact from ME to merces they were going to visit me if i do not PHONE mercers within 72hrs, i have sent them a letter back saying that i have had contact with them since MAY i have sent the monthly token gesture payment also to mercers each calendar month to which they have been recieving, i also stated on the letter that i do not invite anyone to my home to discuss the issue, basically i am fed up of there bullying tactics even though i have/ and are going down the right road to try and pay this debt off with the cccs help and advice, if i had spare money honestly i would pay more , but i genuinly dont have it, Mercers never reply to my leters they just keep sending me final demands and notices, one after another.....
any advice please
