Pips in sultanas? Never come accross that myself...
MAde the above Bettys cake at the weekend - smelt SO good! Have been using the PEdro Ximinez sherry mentioned by Nigella in her latest book, my god, it was delicious. Mr 999 compared it to liquid treacle toffee - we had several glasses to test it!0 -
Hey guys! This is my decorated christmas cake that I did today! First attempt at decorating cakes so was pretty pleased with it! More pics are on my blog :

Hi - I use all sorts of empty tins. I turn the tin upside down afterwards, open the can and push the cake out. If you put more mixture in, so you get a tall cake they make lovely Christmas candles - very easy to decorate! Large H-z tom soup tins are a great shape. A tip from a baker - if you put 1/2 inch of water over a cake that takes hours to cook, it prevents it from burning (esp the fruit) but doesn't spoil the cake. It works for me.

Hi Princess
No, just on the top of the cake itself.;)

Ooh, does the water just sit there or does it sink in or evaporate? Might try that next time tho so thanksSealed pot Member target £200 - No. 151
