Right, i get paid tomorrow and his birthday is on Saturday with a bit of a shindig at his.. I want to buy him something on a budget but which looks pricey. Does that make sense? A gadget or something .. He's really down to earth and not "oldie" at all.
Any help would be gratefuly received.

Budget?? and tell us a lot more about him.
i.e hobbies , life style etc0 -
Ok, well he's Irish. Loves golf and sports.. He made me the Palace fan I am today although he doesn't go to the games anymore he still has a sort of interest. He's a carpenter and enjoys a drink. A really nice guy. Not sure what else to say.
Oh my budget is £50.
Thanks -

mp3 player, pre load it with the "couch to 5K" running programme as a laugh if he hates running, along with a few of his favourite tunes.
Or load it with some top tips on golf he can listen to on the way round the course??Member of the first Mortgage Free in 3 challenge, no.19

Thats a point. I can put some podcasts etc on it.

Thing is he's a construction worker so I can't see him getting much use out of it only when he plays golf and when he does he normally talks to the lad he is out with it?

OK - I have an idea, it sounds very silly but it is an interesting little gadget.... how about a temperature gadget that tells you the weather now - we have one with a little man on - if its going to be cold he has a coat on if really cold he puts hat scarf and a long coat on. In the summer he has a deck chair and swimming trunks on. We look at it every day - you can get the from the weather centre - I paid about £30 - as a golfer he will love it!
Sorry forgot to mention - really super fast delivery - I paid one day it arrived the next. What goes around comes around !! Simple but very true :rotfl:0
