  • Kids only want this stuff because they see it on telly, most/all of it has very little play value or appeal. When mine were younger they often could not remember what it was they wanted only that they wanted it IYSWIM. When dd was about three she wanted the Barbie that appeared to become a real person in the advert. Clever filming or lying to a young child. Adverts should have to be realistic and show the toys as they really are. Another trick is to show several sets together, more than you would ever buy then say that sets start at a tenner.

Well I have to say I will be buying none of these for my kids for christmas. :D

I am pretty much sorted for my son, and have bought nothing for my daughter as yet but to be fair she is happy with a washing basket (she has been sitting in mine for the last 3 days laughing and clapping) so I might just buy her a pink one :rotfl:

Buy two the same one to sit in and one
for her dollies and teddies to sit in,mine were
the same about wash baskets when they
were little like this.We ended up with 7
Addis wash baskets here so mine could play
trains and their mates had one too.Funny
the boys used to sit in them and put one on top
as well and play star wars flying in their airships
the girls like to make beds in each one for thier
    dolls.

They were 99p each but over the years we
have found umpteen uses for them in our
home and when not in use they stack .
they worked out over the years better
value and were used more than many
of the toys we bought them.

that's so true, both of mine loved the washing baskets :)

I find the idea of a cupcake maker really disturbing actually - don't adults bake with kids anymore, using a normal oven?

    couldent agree more I bet
    those cup cake makers make
    awful cakes,and the refills
on offer for 9.99 instead of
    19.99 ? Imagine how many
    cakes you could make with
    a tenner.
