Cheap/good online fabric shop?

Hello
I have got my sewing machine out from the bottom of the wardrobe, blown the dust off the top and am itching to get stuck into a project. Problem is; I have no fabric.
Does anyone have any recommendations for great places to get material/ribbons online?
I bought a couple of 'fat quarters' from an ebay seller and they are lovely - but I could spend a fortune this way.:o I also need some more basic material (like calico and hessian and cotton gingham).
Thanks!

Thanks, pseudopensioner, for the link. Looks like a good resource. I'll be signing up as I'm having a go at making roman blinds for the first time and, like Jenny Wren, I don't want to spend a vast fortune.:T :T0

There's an older thread here on buying fabric (which I'll add this thread to later
). It also has a link to the existing thread on sewing clothes, which has further links in it.
