  • I had a meeting with a dude from the council and he was very nice-once I had the meeting, the money came thru quite quickly-within a week.

    It's all I have for entertainment other than the tv and internet now. And the girls love playing it. If it get desperate I will though.

    You'd survive ;) We'd keep you company :D I just daren't ever buy a wii (or anything similar). Apart from the fact I can't afford one, I know I'd just end up sitting playing it all the time I should be AQA'ing!

    My new child tax credit claim was sorted really fast IA and none of my payments were affected so you should get that as normal, plus an extra adjustment payment (I did anyway).

    fingers crossed for mine then.. I know it's going to be the housing and council tax benefit that take ages though :(

    Sar when I received housing benefit it took about 2 weeks from filling all the forms in, to actually receiving first payment. My sis has just applied herself after her marriage failed and she is now a single parent. They had a system you could go in and you would get first payment 24 hours later..how efficient is that. I think they vary from council to council. Have you tried looking online at your local county council benefits section?
