Apologies if I'm in the wrong forum here as I rarely venture out my safe zone in the Pure Money and Techie Stuff forums.
Basically, it's as the title says.
My wife wiped the bread bin with a wet cloth a couple of days back but never dried it. Now there's a what can only be described as a thin layer of rust on top of the bin.
Any tips on removing it would be greatly appreciated.

Not sure if this'll help but if it's stainless steel/brushed metal you could try a bit of baby oil on a microfibre cloth. It's what I use to clean all of my stainless steel bits in the kitchen and it's good at getting marks and rusty bits off. You only need a tiny bit of oil though, and lots of rubbing. A non-microfibre cloth will work too but I find it takes more rubbing and it'll leave bits on the surface, whereas a microfibre one won't0
