Hello all,
Joined about 20 minutes ago just so I could post this.....
No doubt like many I am supporting my son through Uni. He has just started his second year.
Most academic years start in late September, and end in June (ish). Thats 9 months.
We bought his TV license for him last year around Sept 28th, and when he arrived home, tried to surrender the unused portion.
YOU CAN ONLY SURRENDER FOR A MINIMUM OF 3 (whole calendar) MONTHS.
So last year we only had July and August as whole months, and could not therefore get a 3 month refund.
This year we got round it by buying his license on October 1st. When he comes home next June, we will surrender July August September.
You live and you learn. Too late for most this year, but make a diary note for next year....
