Liability Order - Looking for some advice

Hello everyone,
Ive had a search around on the forums and found some useful advice but none specific to my situation. I recently recieved a Liability Order sent to my address care of for my son. The bill was for unpaid council tax dating back a few years from when he shared a house. This is the first ive heard of it I do know however while he lived at this address despite his housemate not paying their council tax , he did as we were bailing him out. His name and another is listed. Now the trickey part.....my son is no longer in the UK, decided to take off abroad and has been gone for over 2 years now. I havent really spoken to him since he left and have had letters from other collection agencies which have now stopped. I have instructed the council he no longer lives here I have no idea where he is and they were fine with this. However im quite concerened from my son and the possible fallout from this, Im sure he has no intentions of returning to the UK for a while and is blissfully unaware of this and aside the fact this isnt his debt, he PAID his share. Can anyone offer any advice i have read stories about people going to prison and keep worrying now...
