if you have been deprived of your freedom then you deserve everything you get in life.

i am sick to death of goody goodys worrying about criminals.

its about time we took a hard stance like the americans do and lock the sods up for years doing hard graft without parole.

they get locked up. free food, bed and free heating. they can sue for their human rights thats been abused and they come out laughing and then commit another crime.

bang the sods up and give them !!!!!! all

Wonder if you will be saying the same when your relative is inside.

    Thought not.

As for america... the grass is not always greener on the other side.
  • To answer the question posted by cashew, the course I'm looking at is website design/creation. After more research it appears that I won't be entitled to any help so I'll just have to try and get the money together myself (£495 + VAT). Oh well it was worth a try!

Just feel as though you only get any help in this country if your're either a criminal or a lazy !!!! or cn't be bothered to work. Why are the good people always penalised???

There are a couple I know (and I'm ashamed to say distant relations) who came here to live (he's english, she's american) after living in america for about 10 years, and have since been put into a house, get loads of benefits and have been given a brand new people carrier to get them around. Why, I hear you ask..... well because they're both to lazy to work and one has a slight disability (because he's overweight). Fair enough if he can't manage to work but what about her???

    Drives me insane!!
  • Thin k yourself lucky.

Why should we think ourselves lucky when we are the ones that stay within the law !!!!!
  • Yes I totally agree - this country is totally !!!!ed up. If you are a paedophile when you come out of 'prison' you get awarded with a nice council house and benefits because the poor things cant get a job now.

I think you will find that the people who live in "nice council houses" are the ones most likely to ensure they run these people out of town.
  • How are people supposed to be rehabilitated back into a law abiding society when they come up against such obvious negativity. I dont condone anyone breaking the law but i strongly feel that people who have served their time should be allowed to access learning and education. Give people skills and watch them grow. Knowledge can empower a person and help them to have a productive life.
By the way, if the uk still deported to Australia, i would happily steal a loaf of bread to secure passage. The uk is so unfriendly now. We seem to be bitter about anyone 'getting freebies' from our government. My view is, i would rather see cash go to where it is needed (like the above) rather than being paid out to fat cat CEO's (who are often already part of our government).
Through my work experience i have seen the results of people having this kind of access. It works for lots of ex offenders. Some people dont see it through, but lots of people drop out of courses even after paying the fees (I have!)
If any ex offender is reading this post and is interested in getting education, dont let the attitudes expressed above put you off. Just go for it !
  • Huh - if you think that's bad check out what the ex terrorists get here in Northern Ireland. Unbelievable and god help you if you say anything about it....none of them have gone away you know!
