Acer Aspire 5720 T7500 2GB 15.4" Laptop £349 @ Tesco

My first contribution to the Grabbit board so hope it's useful.

Just saw this in Tesco

Personally I think it's a good buy but I'm not so clued up on the price of laptops at the mo.

Did a quick search on this board and there was another ACER model laptop @ Play.com for £349

check out the currys clearance /refurbished ones just bought a hp 17" dual core for just over £300 , i think many of the so called refurbs are old stock , i have had 2 recently and not a mark on either , better to avoid the advent and packard bell though ,
but were plenty of well speced toshibas and compaq/ hewlett packard last visit and free delivery 12 months warranty

Check your processors too folks. There's a lot of difference between a T2330 processor as in some of the Currys ones and the T7500 on Tesco.

I bought my son an Acer from Tesco last year. It lasted three weeks before it gave up!

  • Well I bought one a couple of weeks ago and I'm very happy with it. There will always be better laptops out there. It's best to make you list of what is essential for you then compare prices. This Acer ticked all my boxes and was the cheapest laptop that met my criteria.

My last laptop was an Acer and lived very happily for 4 years. I am very pleased with this one.

Some stores have it in stock but buy it through direct then you can use QUIDCO and a code if you can find one
  • Hi,
I have one of those Acers. I am using it right now. We got it 2 weeks ago using the £5 OFF till spit and got double points. We sold our "old" desk top to DH niece, for a good price, this laptop makes life sooooo much easier.

I just have to get used to windows vista.

Thanks for that link - I knew if I finally bought the laptop this morning (been putting it off!), someone would come along with a better deal- I just wasn't expecting this quick :p:rotfl:

I bought mine from dabs and with cashback from HP, quidco and the 'free' money I had sat in my PayPal it cost just under £200 so I'm a happy bunny really :D

Does anyone know if the RAM is 1 x 2gb or 2 x 1gb sticks?

If it's 1 x 2gb then I will get another stick of the same size to make 4gb total.

PS. The offer is still on.

    It's 2x 1GB.

Great wee laptop, as long as you get rid of all the preinstalled garbage programs and do a fresh install of XP.

  • Hi, Does anyone know if this laptop will qualify for the free Windows 7 upgrade? I believe Acer offer them but is dependent on the retailer's arrangement with Acer. I'm thinking of this laptop for my daughter for Xmas.
If there are any brains out there I also wonder if the Ram can be increased to 4 GB and whether a dedicated graphics card can be fitted. Thanks in advance
