Need advice please

Hi guys,

I just received this. I know its my own fault but there's no way I can pay it off at once. Ideas please?

THIS MATTER SHOULD BE GIVEN YOUR URGENT ATTENTION

Penalty Charge Notice owing to Torbay Council
TOTAL OUSTANDING: £284.10 (including costs to date)

As you are aware, from both precious correspondance and visits, we have been appointed as Certified Bailiffs by the above named Local Authority and we are again contacting you to advise that payment of £284.10 should be sent to Phoenix Commercial within 7 days from the date of this letter.

Should we fail to receive payment in full, our bailiff will attend your premises to collect the new balance which will mean that the balance outstanding will increase substantially. If the bailiff cannot collect this balance, your vehicle and/or your goods will be removed to clear the arrears.

__

I haven't had any visits and if I had previous post then its amongst the stuff I didn't open then shredded when I was really depressed about it all.

Any advice would be very welcome. Thanks

  • hi have a look at this factsheet below from ndl about baliffs and council tax ( i am assuming this is arrears on ct?)

    http://www.nationaldebtline.co.uk/england_wales/factsheet.php?page=02_bailiffs_and_council_tax

the factsheet should be able to answer all your questions, but if not shout!

No it was a parking ticket for arriving as the bloke was walking away from ticketing my car. He refused to even turn around when we were calling to him. We were seven minutes late if i remember correctly.

I wrote a cheque for it, but it bounced :( Guess why. Bloody bank charges! It was at the time when I was really down and I just stopped opening post for a long time - its all in the diary really.

Well, I've rang Torbay council who've told me to contact the bailiffs.

    Going to do that now.

    It seemed almost too easy?

I rang the Bailiffs and we've arranged an eight week plan. God knows how I'm gonna find the money like lol! Gonna have to bust a gut on eBay :)
