Best Price for 500GB External Drive

Does anyone know of the best deal around at the moment for a reliable 500GB external drive ? It is need to backup a laptop and to keep lots of pictures and photos on so can just be a USB one.

Thanks

Probably best asked on the techie forum, but depends whether you want USB or firewire connection (or both!), and whether it's stand alone or part of a back-up system? I use a Western Digital MyBook. Mine's only 250gb but ample for my needs, and bought off eBay for £40 :D

There's a 500GB external hard drive for £49.99 here. I have no idea about the reliability of that though, and to be honest had never heard of the brand before I stumbled across it.

In terms of better known brands, there is Freecom 500GB drive for £59.99 here, and for a fiver more there's the Iomega 500GB drive here. Though I don't have that specific Iomega drive, I do have an Iomega drive and it is exceptionally good quality.
