I have a problem with my bedroom, it always seems to be dusty, even just after I have cleaned. I regularly clean it thanks to FlyLady(!) but soon afterwards it looks like it hasn't been touched. The rest of the house is ok and I use a yellow duster and Pledge across the whole house. Our bedroom is at the top of the house in a loft conversion and with 2 young children gets a lot of traffic but other rooms aren't as bad. We have a feather duvet and pillows but they don't seem to shed many feathers. The furniture in there is waxed pine so I can't just wash everything down.
I'm started to get hacked off with cleaning but not seeing any benefit, I might go on strike soon! Any advice from the wonderful OSers? Theres usually someone whos been there first.

use a damp cloth.. with a duster you are flicking al the dust back into the air and within half an hour it has resettled.. with damp dusting you are removing the dust from the house.
A damp cloth is fine on waxed pine..LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -

Hi, I had the same problem then I watched how DH sprayed his deodorant........everywhere but his armpit!!!!
The mist from the deodorant was settling on every surface in the bedroom, but was noticably worse beside the wardrobe where he actually does the spraying

Just thought.. have you tried one of those nylonny dusters like you use to do monitors.. they grab the dust using static electricity from the fibres.. that might work better.

Must admit that thought had crossed my mind as we both use spray deodorant but often go out onto landing cos of the kids. But whats the solution, banned the OH from the house (tempting!) or go smelly?!0 -

I cann't use spray anything least of all deoderant due to Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disrder and chronic asthma.
A damp cloth is used for dusting, deoderants are roll ons, talc is banned.
