Hole in 2 month old boots

I am looking for some advice please.
During the last week of August I bought a pair of ankle boots from M and S for £35. I have been wearing the boots every day to work. This morning I was walking to work and I realised my toes were getting wet. The leather on the front of the boot has been worn away so there is now a hole in the shoe where the leather joins the sole. Looking at the boot now the leather of the boot actually over hangs the sole so the leather is always touching the pavement when I walk. The same wearing away is happening on the other boot in the same place.
Now I know the boots were not overly expensive but I would expect for a pair of boots to last for longer than a couple of months. I do not think I still have the receipt but I do have a credit card statement from when I bought the boots.
Do you think I stand a chance of getting M and S to do something about these boots or should I just bin them and get a new pair?

Definitely get M&S to do something about it. Don't know if you'll get a full refund but you should at least get a new pair in return or a credit note for the original value of the boots.
Take the credit card statement and if you have the original box, return them in that. if not, an M&S bag - that way they'll see you're a regular customer and won't want to lose your business.
Any hassle just ask to speak directly to the manager.
And if all else fails, take a day off work, get a sandwich board and stage a protest outside the shop advising people of M&S's shoddy returns policy.
Doubt it will come to that though.0 -
I returned a skirt 1 year after purchasing it (had only worn it a dozen times) which had a hole in it where the stitching had started to pull. It was linen. I took it back and got a full refund, no proof of purchase. They couldn't apologise enough and had receved a few back with the same problems.
You may find your not alone with your holey toe!:rotfl: l love this site!! :rotfl:0 -
M & S are one of the best shops on the high street for dealing wiht returned items - when they had been purchased several months before....
thats probably why they never seem to make any money
smile --- it makes people wonder what you are up to....
