Owed to RBS will Nat West take it from current a/c?

I am asking this on behalf of a friend.
She has a Nat West current a/c and owes money on a credit card that is run by RBS.
She has a large cheque ( the money is already spoken for ) to pay into the current a/c.
She is worried that Nat West on behalf of RBS will grab the money and use it to pay off the C/C debt.
Does this happen with different banks in the same group?
( She is making payments to the C/C but pro rata to her total debt )

I have just checked with her.
Yes she is in arrears but as she is on a low income she is paying them a small amount each month but not the minimum payment, they have accepted the low amount and have not tried to remove any money from her current a/c yet, but there has never been a large amount paid in.
Her worry is that the system will flag up a large amount and this will trigger RBS to grab it.If you go down to the woods today you better not go alone.0 -
It may happen. To be honest, not sure how RBS will see it. Sorry, I can't help more on this.
Can she use some of that money to clear some of the credit card?Debt 30k in 2008.:o Cleared all my debt in 2013 and loving being debt free

Thanks, problem is as I said she needs the money for something else, without going into details it is important and it wouldn't be fair to her other creditors if RBS took what they are owed. If there is some money left over she would want to share it out more equally. If you go down to the woods today you better not go alone.0
