Ideas needed for low cost romantic day in

Hi Moneysavers.
A week on Saturday is our 5th wedding anniversary and I'd like to do something really special - however, we're having to be careful with money so I don't have huge bucks to spend on anything flashy.
We're both homely people who love cooking and time together, so I am really looking for some thoughtful, low cost ideas to show my husband how much I love spending time with him  I also need ideas for a present for him too, ideally under £20.
I've Googled and the 5th anniversary is 'wood'. I know what he'd say to that :rotfl:

Hmm, Last year was my 5th wedding anniversary. I googled "wooden heart dish" and found one and bought it and filled it with his favourite chocolates! He loved it. I think the dish was £15 or so but REALLY beautiful

Do you have a garden? How about planting a small tree in it as a memento (and following the wood theme)
Am not a gardener at all so it could be completely the wrong time of year to do this btw :rotfl:0 -
Any time is ok to plant a tree that has been in a pot. Just make sure it is supported well and you have prepped the ground thoroughly. Maybe something productive to be even more moneysaving... a fruit tree or nut tree, perhaps?
Great idea, amanda! If you do what you've always done, you'll get what you've always got.

MOVING THREADS FOR BETTER RESPONSES
Hi, Martin’s asked me to post this in these circumstances: I’ve asked Board Guides to move threads if they’ll receive a better response elsewhere (please see this rule) so this post/thread has been moved to the Weddings and Anniversaries board, where it should get more replies. If you have any questions about this policy please email abuse@moneysavingexpert.com.Signature removed for peace of mind0 -
You sound like us! How about buying some really good food from a farmer's market or deli, something that doesn't take much preparation but that you'll both really enjoy.Got married 23rd May 2009, many thanks to all on the Weddings and Anniversaries board for their help and support!

You could try M&S because they have lots of dinners for 2 inc wine for £100

This might sound really naff but how about an indoor picnic? A rug on the floor, some nice candles and nice food.
