I would say that they rarely refund the transport costs because they would always or almost find enough people willing to take part in it without asking for transport refund.

But not all groups are hel in London or big cities so you can still get a chance to see one not too far from your place.

Cheers, im in sheffield so a big city. I just wondered about travel costs, never mind.
Do you know any companies that are in sheffield, ive already registered at loads of focus groups in the hope to hear something, but if they arent sheffield i wont be able to go, cheers.

It depends on the complexity of the project. If it is pretty tough for them to recruit then I guess they would be happy to pay for travel expenses but they don't most of the time, or it is part of the reward/money you get.
