Thorntons hiccup...

Hi all, not sure if this is the right board but hoping someone can advise anyway... Have ordered some of the half price Thorntons chocs which were delivered today (ordered last week). Had a few large (dated April 2009) and about a dozen small. The problem is, the small are for Xmas presents (which the website suggested!), and are dated best before Dec 31st 2008! Obviously no good to give away.
I've looked all over their website for details of their returns policy but can't find anything. Has this happened to anyone else, and what have you done about it?! Knew it was too good to be true!

The thread on the grabbit board has a post from someone who had been in touch with CS at Thorntons and all chocs were supposed to have March 09 or better on. (or something similar)
I'd get in touch with Thorntons and explain. They seem pretty good.0 -
Thanks for your reply Fern, I actually took the plunge and rang CS who said I could take them to a store and the store would let them (CS) know I'd returned and then send me out a new delivery when the next batch came in (sounds longwinded!), but this sounded a bit of a pollaver so I rang my local store - who knew nothing of this procedure! They are now calling CS and then me to confirm if they can do this. It's looks like it could be a lot of hassle...0

Hiya
I think they've seen a massive take up on this offer. So many people bought loads and used the free delivery code that they only allow premium delivery with this offer now.
It's worth persevering, I think. Although it does mean a trip for you and I would mention this to CS as it's not your fault. See what the shop says.;)0
