Just to update you all, I had my hearing today and I explained the whole situation and they seemed fine about it. I will now make another appointment and get a medical note.
Oh, I'm so pleased about this!:j Now you can see your doctor, start your treatment and begin to start feeling better. Thank you so much for updating us.0 -
Just reading through this thread and am pleased to see that they now know & hopefully fully recognise your situation. My fear was that if they were unaware of the true reason for your absences etc then they would just think you are simply unreliable and workshy.
I went through a similar situation myself about 13 years ago when I found myself slightly out of my depth in the job I was doing - i couldnt see any way out espcially as I had a young family and a mortgage etc and the pay was quite good, I was getting unpleasant flac from one or two colleagues and depression set in. In my case I spoke with the personnel dept and the MD and both, thankfully, showed understanding and supported me. I went to the Drs, reluctantly went on ADs and saw a phycologist. The combination of these helped me to see beyond the dark hole I was in and I suddenly saw a way out - I left that job and started to work for myself in something i actually enjoyed - I was on cloud nine as soon as I decided what I would and could, suddenly life opened up - it was wonderful!
I hvnt regretted it since though it's been difficult sometimes from a money point of view but it's all been worth it.
Of course everyone's situation is different but I feel it's a matter of being able to see beyond the problem, try looking from another viewpoint, and try not to feel sorry for yourself - it's not easy I know but only you can make things better in the end.
Good luck!
