Free Swimming for pregnant ladies?

My friend (who lives in Bristol) mentioned that I should be able to go swimming for free because I'm pregnant. I have looked everywhere on my council's website (Mid Sussex DC) and can't find any info on this. Does anyone know whether this is a local or national government initiative? Personally I think it would be great - incentivise people to stay active and healthy during pregnancy, especially at a time when you're spending money on baby stuff and possibly living off SMP.
Anyone living in Mid Sussex able to help? Anyone else: do they have this scheme in your area?

Hi Sarah
I live just outside the catchment for the Bristol scheme, in South Gloucestershire, I can't find anything for them either.
Might be worth giving the Leisure department at the council a ring?0 -

There's not a national programme of free swimming for pregnant women though some facilities may be offering local projects via the district midwife. Worth asking about when you next have a check.0 -
Our local council in the West Midlands in conjunction with the NHS offer lots of free activities for residents including Pilates, family walks, Aqua Natal classes, circuit training and running clubs.
Have you checked out your council's website?0 -
