  • I feel awful now - can someone comfort me???? I've just had a call from an MS company asking me to do a job in a town which is a good 45 mins drive from me. I have this town on my profile because I don't mind going there if I have more than one assignment to make it worthwhile. Last time I went to this town (admittedly it was a couple of months ago as good paying jobs don't come up that often) I had 3 jobs in one day and felt it was worth it.

The lady offered to virtually double the fee but I still didn't feel it was worth it. She said I should remove that postcode from my profile. As I said, now I feel awful. I still want the option of doing jobs in this town because IF I have other work there it would suit me. But I feel a bit like I was being told off, like I shouldn't have it on my profile if I'm not prepared to go there for one job. Am I being over-sensitive?

I would say so, to be honest, Its sometimes easier to make up an excuse in these instances, 'I cant do that today, as I am expecting a delivery' or something similar.

I'm sure they would be able to find someone else to do the job.

Dont worry, remember they are trying to fill a quota, and its almost like a sale for them, they could have probably offered more than they did, and the next person they call will probably receive an offer of 2.5 times its usual payment.

    Thanks for that!

SC tell the woman to b0llocks! It's not up to her where you want to shop, or why you couldn't do that town on that day - she was obviously just peeved at ringing for no reason which sadly for her, is part of her job!

And an FYI for all re: TNS; I've never once sent off a receipt to them, nor faxed/emailed one; they don't use them and I doubt they even keep them tbh.
  • Whats a premium assignment on GAP? I keep seeing people talk about them, was wondering what I have to do to qualify.
  • Darlo

They are assignments they are desperate to get rid of and attach a premium too.

They show up in a yellowy colour when you get to the select assignment page.

    Cheers Paul
  • Cheers Paul, they will be the ones I get phonecalls for then saying can you do this one at short notice?

For some reason I thought it was an exclusive club that had different stores that paid more money.
  • When they phone you they sometimes don't mention a premium but if you ask they will normally come up with one.

They are often just available for selection as normal on the website.

Hi all guess what I am doing a GAP Pizza delivery. My hubbie is still laid up with his broken ribs and I am shattered working, seeing to him as he is immobile ( nothing new there then:rotfl:taking the dogs out so it suits me to have a pizza delivered as I cant be bothered cooking tonight after working 9 hours today.

My problem is how do I locate the questionnaire for the results.

I am sure you are all waiting with baited breath to see how I get on.!!!

Agree with Timmne and darlo_fan. The MS companies have made us self-employed contractors to drive down fees. Therefore we have the right to refuse when they phone up with "need to be done" jobs, if the circumstances/fees don't suit. If they expect us to accept these jobs they should pay staff wages and expenses. That will be right!!!!

Also there have been car park charges where you get a card out of the machine on entry, and post it back into the machine on exit! So no proof. They'll just have to take my word for it./quote]

You can ask for receipts at these car parks too - it will either be on the machine where you pay and you'll get a duplicate looking card or you'll be able to select receipt required on exit and it simply pops your original card back out for you.
