Natwest Bank Base Rate
Comments
-
Just spoke to someone at Natwest and for anyone else in a similar situation, the guy on the phone thinks the Natwest Base Rate (for trackers, not SVR etc) goes down on the 20th.0

Changes on 1st of the month for existing customers - always the same whether the rate goes up or down - sometimes we win sometimes we lose0

Just found this on the Natwest website under common questions:
What is the difference between a Standard Variable Rate (SVR) and a tracker rate?
The SVR of each lender is set by that lender and they can vary it at any time. Although lenders normally change their SVR as a result of The Bank of England Base Rate changing, they don't always change them by the same amount.
With a tracker rate, the mortgage tracks an independently set interest rate, such as The Bank of England Base Rate. The benefit of a tracker mortgage is that you are guaranteed that any falls in interest rates will be passed on to you, usually from the beginning of the month after the rate change. However, any rises in rates are also guaranteed to be passed on to you.0 -
NatWest BBR went down today. Hopefully this is usual and they won't bail out at the next drop...0

Is the Nat West Base Rate (not SVR) available online anywhere? TIA0
