Help/Advice needed !!

Im currently in debt of around £2100 to 2 credit cards and an overdraft, Have been trying to get it down over the last few months but I just dont seem to be getting anywhere and have missed a few months payments now due to be being just stupid and spending it on nights out and clothe's etc etc.. I have applied for a few loans but dont score enough points as im only 19, live with parents and other things. Probably a bad credit rating too.

So basically im asking for some help or advice on where I can either obtain a loan with a bad credit rating and with my age. Or just any advice on how I can controll my debt without it getting even higher.

Any help would be VERY appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I think you have very low chances to find something decent after missed payments and many applications
Or just any advice on how I can controll my debt without it getting even higher.
Stop being stupid. Forget about 'nights out and clothe's etc etc.. ' until you pay the debts off.
  • you don't provide enough info to give any firm advice about how to clear this debt although i do agree with grumbler that you should "Forget about 'nights out and clothe's etc etc.. ' until you pay the debts off." . post a statement of affairs (income and outgoings) and we'll see if we can save you money and get your debts paid off asap.

Tried to make one but realised that I dont really have to pay out that much, apart from rent to my mom, my mobile phone contract and my sky tv in my room.

I think my problem is that, I just spend to much on things that are not essential such as nigths out, clothes, taxi's, rentals etc etc. So to be honest I can only really help myself by not spending so much if any on these items. Thanks for the advice guys, but I can only sort this problem out if I help myself!!
  • hi
out of intrest when you pay for these non essential items do you pay cah or cards
if you use cards switch to cash it makes you aware of what you are spending..

me and my partner lived at home for pennies for 3 months till we moved to our new flat so i carried on using the 500 per month i had to pay for rent to pay debts
if you look at it like this would be what id have to pay for a mortgage ect it helps...

If you do a job well, people won't be sure you've done anything at all

    Must claim back bank charges!!!
  • just had a quick scan at this and what might be a good idea is make up a action plan spreadsheet and make a commitment to pay an affordable monthly payment then take this plan to your bank and show them that you are now a changed person regarding your payment shortfalls this should impress them into offering you a loan to cover the debts and hopefully an attractive rate that you would not beat elsewhere due to your poor credit record. I am sure if you act responsibly now it will laern you to budget and prepare yourself for future borrowings which you will need later in life all the best
  • Yea I did used to pay for everything by cards.. Once I had maxed my credit cards out I just used my current account card. My problem is that when I see that I have money in my bank, i always seem to spend it. It burns a hole in my pocket as the saying goes.. After christmas I AM going to change my ways tho.. Sorting a loan out hopefully with my mom and also going to re-open a savings account so I can put the £10 a week in and I can touch it. Thanks to everyone for there help/advice. Your great, you've gave me hope :D
