Up to 150 people, including student groups, protested outside the Royal Exchange building next to the Bank of England Friday afternoon. ..........Protesters, led by organisers from the Socialist Workers Party, chanted "Whose money? Our money" and carried placards that read "Why should we pay for their crisis?".
A certain irony there from the student groups.........

Be interesting to work out the net payment (or not) these 150 protestors have contributed to the Treasury since reaching the age of 16.

Depends... Do you pay VAT on a ticket for Glastenbury?

One or two of them look like they have just packed up their tent

    I've been Money Tipped!
Hmm. I'm becoming very confused. the bank bailout i beyond my comprehension truely, so my opinions on that are a bit worthless, bt where I am confused is this thing with 'capitalism.'
My very illaducated interpretation of capitalism is that this current bailout is distinctly un capitalistic.

I thought that along with lack of governmental ownership of 'goods' in capitalism, an important part was that success was rewarded with ...er, success and money, and that failure of the market was left, as an example of flawed model, or failure to profit, and left to rot?? So the bailout the proclaimed socialists above are campaigning against is not a capitalst model. Have I greatly misconstrued this?:o
