I remember there was space invaders too, and also a big whooha about hedgehog flavour crisps in the early 80's when I was a kid.

hedgehog flavour crisps!!!! I remember those along with piglets - does anyone remember those? (little piggy shaped crisps)

will be on the look out for the 'big bag' picked onion flavour (closely followed by roast beef)

Space invaders are still around - 25p a pack!

I thought they were called Space Raiders? Have i been saying the wrong thing to my son all this time? :rotfl: :o

    It's a disgrace that they're 25p now, It wasn't so long ago that they were 10p, that's a 250% inflation. Shocking  :o

I'll be on the look out for the pickled onion too - yum. Love it when they are really strong and flavoursome.

Does anyone else remember chocolate crisps? - I think it may have been Smiths, Walkers, or KP. It was around 1993 i think. I remember seeing them in a newsagents when i used to walk to school. I didn't ever try them. I imagine they were awful!
    Looking forward to the future.
  • I used to love the looney toonscrisps, round discs like discos with pictures of the characters on them :)

Sorry to be picky, but there are two different sized bags 10p went up to 15p, and the 20p ones went up to 25p. Luckily transformers are still only 20p (and a bigger bag!) :)

Ooooooooooppps! You're right - just been playing space invaders!! (I'm a sucker for the old games too!!) They have gone up but they have also increased the pack size. Haven't actually looked but I think it's about twice the size. They did do the small pack for 15p for a while before these came along. The funny thing is that I haven't sold one pack of these to a child in a long time - it's adults coming in and grabbing them!

Mmm, Tangy Toms! And Burger Bites, yum! We had much better access to crapsnacks back in the 80s before everyone started trying to make junk food healthy. Don't understand the point of that really. Have you noticed that Smarties taste rubbish since they got rid of the additives? Surely if you're that worried about giving the kids additives, you'd refuse to buy them Smarties? They've ruined it for the rest of us! :-)

Thanks for mentioning the piglet crisps - people were trying to convince me I'd hallucinated those...
