lamb ribs - what to do with?

My local butcher has given me a huge bag of lamb ribs. Any suggestions what to do with them? Can you just grill them or do they need slow cooking?

Thanks

a while ago (I think it was on weezl's 50p thread) someone said they cooked lamb ribs in the slow cooker - the meat just came off the bones, so it was much easier to eat.

    Hi there,

I've not cooked ribs before, but I'm sure i have seen a recipe on a cooking programme recently where the chef simmered the ribs to cook the meat though, then glazed them with BBQ sauce and put them in the oven to make them all sticky and yummy.

Sorry I can't be more specific. The BBc food website is very good - you could search on there to get some ideas?

    Good luck!

  • Hi,

It would depend on the size of the lamb ribs, but I reckon that 180 ºC for 30 minutes will be fine.

Pork ribs normally take 25 - 30 minutes, lamb is a smaller animal, so it might even be less? Cook them for an hour and a half and there won't be much left.

    Enjoy your dinner!
  • Ta, they are just fairly small, individual ribs. Like what you get form the Chinese!
