DMP with CCCS

My OH is starting on a DMP with the CCCS. We are having a few problems with Lloyds TBS taking payments for his cards out of his accounts, in fact they've now done this 2 in 2 weeks which i think is a tad extreme!
does anyone have any experience of CCCS and how long it all takes to go through as we are desperate to get Lloyds off his back. By taking the money they are leaving him in what can only be described as near enough poverty as they have taken all his money out his a/c (yes i know its in the T&CS of the a/c they can do this) and now he has literally not a penny till payday in 2 weeks.
any advice welcomed. thanks.

As I understand the golden rule is to get a new bank account not related to any of your creditors to stop this from happening (as they can do this as much as they like:mad:)
I know I opened a little Step account with Natwest to have all my money paid into before my DMP started. It takes about 10 days to open an online account as you need to post off ID etc but I would totally recommend it as his next course of action.
Good luck and hope he gets it all sorted out :A0 -
Hi,
I'd open a basic bank account now with another bank and get his wages paid into that one to protect his wages from TSB.0 -
we did the new a/c for him yesterday, i hope due to all his adverse credit he gets accepted! failing that, his wages are going to have to go in my a/c,
its so frustrating as i felt like we were actually getting somewhere.
also, 1 month they took a payment before a D/D came out which when the D/D came out, he went overdrawn and they got the bank charges as well! legal???!:j TTC from September 08 / BFP November 08 / EDD 22nd July 09 :jOH's debt as of Sept 08 - £15,000 / Nov 08 - £13,5000 -
if h doesn't get accepted you might want to have a look at this thread about basic bank accounts.

LLoyds did this to me too and eventually I had to ask work to pay me by cheque and use a very expensive cheque cashing company while i waited for my new bank account to get set up. I went with the co op because they accept people on dmp but also they are the most ethical high street bank.0

i spoke to lloyds collections on saturday who said they would refund what they've taken since it leaves him in hardship but it could take up to 10 days. i was infuriated! and if they had an english call centre it would make life easier!:j TTC from September 08 / BFP November 08 / EDD 22nd July 09 :jOH's debt as of Sept 08 - £15,000 / Nov 08 - £13,5000

i think usually not, as you are meant to only use cash??
we managed to clear our od on our bank account so we kept our visa debit account ( as i say not sure if we a meant to!) 0 -
My Natwest Step account has a solo card and the only place I had trouble using it was at a car park, most retailers accept solo now, I just make a point of looking before I go to the tills
