Raising cash for care home fees

Hi all

Just wondered if anyone had any advice please?

My mum is in a care home and to continue the funding we are selling her house (goes on the market next week).

However we need to raise a bit of money for the interim care, especially as the house may not sell quickly in today's rocky sea of financial turbulence.

We thought we could get a loan against the house but we can't as she no longer resides there. We are all out of money - so thinking of a loan/credit card at % for 6 months - but it's all a bit of a gamble...

We are looking in region of £10,000 I guess

Any ideas gratefully received?

Please speak to your local council social services as they normally have a deferral scheme whereby they keep adding up what you owe & take it out of the cost of the house once it's sold.
