Where to buy a King-size Divan Bed?

Argos seem to have some decent deals on, but these beds seem to be permantly "half price".
Is there anywhere that actually does sell beds at half price, because looking around at places like Bensons etc. it is so confusing!
Any advice much appreciated - I'm looking to spend around £500 on a king size divan.
Thanks.

Try the co-op website they often have discounts - I got a mattress from them earlier this year and they were reasonable.0 -
A month ago I ordered a Kingsize bed from Argos. It was reduced from £700 down to £284.
It finally arrived on Friday!!!! I was furious they had only delivered half a bed base, & couldn't say when the other would be in stock. I was gobsmacked!!!
The quality is appalling & on Wednesday they are collecting it, with a full refund.
I was so upset, so my DH suggested going to Sleepmasters. I was shocked to find kingsize beds previously priced at over a £1000 down to under £500, with 5 year warranty, & on interest free too.

Our bed is coming this week & the quality is far superior when compared to the Argos bed that is at present in my living room. Argos customer services are a joke!!!
This is the bed I ordered:

Have to agree with isualive, Argos have only ever supplied poor quality (but cheap) stuff when Ive bought stuff there. With something as important as a bed/divan set and mattress, that you will spend a third of your life on, you need quality and reliability. I would start at your local independant bed retailer. Ignore Dreams/Bedsuperstore et al, as they are more interested in shifting large quantities at large mark up. Your local independant will need to sell better quality products to keep customers coming back without the huge advertising budget of the others...
One more thing, by personal experience, please avoid Silentnight/Rest Assured/Sealy. They are all part of the same group and quality has gone through the floor. The name is not what is used to be...:A Luke 6:38 :AThe above post is either from personal experience or is my opinion based on the person God has made me and the way I understand things. Please don't be offended if that opinion differs from yours, but feel free to click the 'Thanks' button if it's at all helpful!0 -
We went to a local bed warehouse for ours recently. It was similar price to internet and we spent a couple of hours trying out the different types of mattresses/bed combos, they difference in some were immediately noticeable, others took longer say 20-30mins before we plumped for a pocket sprung with a memory foam top. Buying a bed I feel you need to go and try them out, after all you'll spend alot of time using it...0
