pick up a voucher from sainsubry's(no purchase necessary)- at my store you could have as many as you like...
each voucher entitles you to purchase up to 2 retur flat fare rail tickets anywhere in scotland (with exception of lockerbie-dunbar) + one child (5-15) free too.

no restrictions at weekends and M-F after 9:15 (with exceptions)

I reckon if I go from glasgow to inverness (or abderdeen) and back I'll pay my £15 instead of £47.50 so not a bad saving.

    Thanks OP :)

Travel to and from Glasgow on Saturday 11 October and to and from Edinburgh on Saturday 8 and 15 November is not permitted.

Tickets can be purchased on day of travel or in advance. Return travel is generally valid for one month from your outward travel date, however all travel must be completed by 18 December 2008.

Tickets can be booked up to 12 weeks in advance of travel.
  • Damn, I was in Sainsburys today but only bought milk and for some reason I thought you had to spend £10 or more to get a voucher - saw a big pile of these at the till when I paid but assumed I didn't qualify for one. :(

We got these last year and went to Inverness from Glasgow return - £30 for me Dh and 2 DS. If anyone is travelling this route with kids - a wee tip it is called the 'Party Train'.....
No Longer addicted to Boots! - Well not today anyway!! :blushing:

    Officially Mortgage free 31/07/2017 , 12 years early :j
  • A reminder that "Kids go free" is available now. Up to two kids between 5 and 15 can travel free with one adult. Also included in ticket price is entrance to some attractions for kids.
Tickets must be bought either on train or at manned station. Cannot be bought online.
Travel outward and return must be on same day so no good for ovenight stays but may be worth it for day trips during holidays.
