PPI Victory - it can be done folks !

Hi All.
I originaly posted this on debt free wannabe but thought it would help here also....

At the beginning of November I posted about cancelling the PPI I had on two loans With TSB.

I was told over the phone twice I could not cancel as its more than 30 days since the start date of my loan.
I decided to put my request in writing and low & behold they cancelled it on one of my loans - £1300 refund ! :T

However, they refused to cancel it on my other loan.
The T&C’s were the same so I couldnt understand why they cancelled it on one loan but not the other ?
I was going to leave it at that, just in case it was a mistake and they refunded me in error.
I had received a refund for £1300 so I should be happy ?

Hell no, I decided to write in and complain - double standards, mis-sold in the first place, taking my business elsewhere etc etc
My case was passed to the loans customer care team who wrote to me saying they were looking into it.
A week later I received a call from TSB who told me they were sorry I felt the way I did, and would I drop the complaint if they issued a full refund + interest ! ! £2108  :T

I was jumping round my office like a lunatic but still managed a coy ‘Yes, that should be ok’

So, here I am a month down the line having received a total £3408 in PPI refunds !

I guess im posting this for two reasons:-

1) Im pleased as punch.
2) To show people it CAN be done – dont take no for an answer ! write, write & write again !

Good luck
Debt at highest £16k+
Debt at lightbulb moment £14,800
Current debt £6336
Cleared £4206 in November 05 How ? Bye Bye PPI :)
