Advice needed about a custom item I ordered that has gone wrong!

  • I think the problem is that by using the item you have accepted it although I totally understand why. I would go back to her and explain the situation ie she made a mistake and offered you a compromise. You couldn't find a suitable fabric and so now what will she do. If she suggests you send it back ask her why you are getting penalised by 50% of the cost for her mistake. Yes you have used the item but I assume not for very long. So she gets half the original amount from you, the item back and then sells it to get the other half = she hasn't lost out and you're out half the money with nothing to show for it buts a few uses of the item.

If I'm right and the item is made of fleece (?) it might therefore have some pilling after being washed. So if you return it she will have to take a hit on it and I guess some of that should be bourn by you because otherwise she could have sold it as unused. 50% does seem too big a loss for you though. I think you need to consider what you believe to be a fair amount for both of you and see if she'll accept that.
  • TBH.......You've used it,its capable of what its designed to do nd if the whole thing only came to under £30 then youre having a lot of heartache for nothing.

By using it you have invalidated any claims that its not what you wanted-you wouldnt expect a part refund and to keep the item if it was from a big seller so why should you expect that service from a wahm?

Move on and get on with life!!
