I am due to retire in December with my Surrey County Council Pension due to be payed in January. (£50,000 lump sum plus monthly payments)

It is not final salary based.
I left the Surrey Council 8 years ago when my depot was taken over by Atkins Transport Management0 -
So are you saying that you are not with the LGPS despite your title? The LGPS is final salary hence previous comments.
Who is your pension with then?
Or are you saying that you were with the LGPS and you left 8 years ago but your pension is still with them? If so it is still a final salary scheme and the final salary is the salary at time of leaving plus index-linking for the last 8 years.0
