madhur jaffrey has a recipe, traditional biryani is cooked slowly over a low heat so it should be ideal. The (thoroughly rinsed) rice has to be cooked for just 5 minutes first.
Will post recipe later if you cant find it. Trouble is I make biryani without a recipe now, just do it automatically;)

    very important thing to note

when cooking any kind of indian food in a slowcooker ONLY cook on low

high heat ruins the flavours something fierce but the low setting is great because it really allows the flavours to blend mmmmmmmmm

anyone got a good slowcooker korma recipe you can post, i'm in the mood now :p

I make a version of biryani but I am sure someone will be able to post a 'real' recipe!

I use my normal curry spices fried off in the pan with oil then bung into the SC with rice and a tin of tomatoes and extra water and then cooked chicken (this is usually a leftover tea for me!). Leave on low for about 6 hours - watch though because the rice soaks up loadsa liquid.

Not a fab recipe but I like it !!!

It turned out too mushy :(
I think I would put it in a dish inside the SC dish next time. If My SC hadn't packed up :(
