  • Being new to all of this ^that^ scares me...
  • The problem is DD is that BR,s are still a minoraty, and most dont wish to stand up and be known as a BR, so geting a large enough "voice" to get that practice changed is/will never be an easy task:confused:
Thats it, i am done, Blind-as-a-Bat has left the forum, for good this time, there is no way I can recover this account, as the password was random, and not recorded, and the email used no longer exits, nor can be recovered to recover the account, goodbye all …………. :(

Dont let it, on the whole it is a rare ocurrance re BRO/U,s and that wont change quickly, IPA,s however are more frequently given where they should not be, or for amounts that are too high under the cercimstance, so i would be more concerned of that if you are working

It does seem like pot luck as to the examinour you get at the moment though, some obviously dont like it either and go out of there way to help, other the opposite.

But the fact is if you need to go BR none of this really matters as you will still be better of afterwards

  • Thank you for the reassurance, I don't work but hubby does...12hours a day at the moment, 7 days a week. The work needs doing and we need the money. But he cannot continue like this...it is killing him. :( Mostly he works 6 days a week...9 - 10 hours a day.

And thats all that matters really, money should take a secondary position, to your wellbeing.

Part of going through BR is realising that there is more to life than money, and that is being able to live a life rather than work, or worry it away.

Nearly all that go through BR realise that eventually and will agree i think, a lot of us still strugle, but a i think most will agree things are better, just not for financial reasons;)

I for one am glad to be half way through my BR and that makes my imminent move abroad even more appealing. I hope we can sell our house so my OH doesn't have to encounter this new style BR. We have a self cert mortgage and it seems unfair (the new proposed legislation) as we went into the mortgage being more than able to pay it - we have been here for 6 years and have only just missed one payment in all that time. Now that our mortgage will go up by £500 per month yes we will struggle big time and I'm getting worried how we will pay it.

  • Like Mrs O, I find this new stuff really scary! How can the issuing of BROs be performance related? Surely they should be appropriate to the individual debtor's situation, not to meet targets set by HMRC or the courts?

Am I thick, or just missing something?

    CB :(

Niether, I think you just starting to see things a bit clearer, its an unexpected side affect of debt and BR.;)

Its all just a game to those (or to be fair some)on the other side, not to us though.

Sorry that may sound a bit daft but its how i have felt of late:confused:

But as i said already, dont let it scare you, there is no need, a lot of what was said is not in force until next year

And being on a forum such as this means that you will know your rights and won't take any funny stuff from the OR so they can meet thier targets. Any problems or questions you have there is usually someone around who can help point you in the right direction.

I feel so sorry for those who don't have backing such as this.

Yes it does worry me that if i had not had this forum and it's experts to help me i would not have known that IPA dissolved = teminated, would not have questioned my OR changing it to suspended,i would not have been able to have written the correctly worded challenge and so would not have known that my OR was trying to pull a fast one, with maybe a target in mind;) .

How many others out there do not have access to the internet or not know this forum exsists so take what their OR's say as gospel.

Mybe martin show have a link in his credits at the end of his show,or mention it on air. Perhaps DD should have a poster made and send it to all cab offices to display on their walls to point people in this direction. I know we can never replace the professionals but we can certainly help lighten their load with some of the more mundane questions and emotional support.Dxx
