MoB Dress Dilemma

Hi guys,

I'm a MoB and am size 30 so there's no point me going to the usual MoB shops to look for outfits as they just aren't going to fit:confused:
I have been 'mooching' on the internet and found an outfit that I absolutely adore but of course can't get it in my size:mad:
I have found a pattern that will make a very similar outfit but am wondering if Milly or Landy would be worth considering - if they do 'other' outfits? I thought that by the time I'd found the fabric and a half decent dressmaker, they may be better value.
this is what I would like;

What do you think?

That's a lovely dress, not sure about Milly or Landy but you could always email... They could only say no...

Have you tried Ann Harvey? StepMIL got her outfit for the day from there (Think she's a 24/26) and it was gorgeous, you can also order online to try on at home...
A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...
Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.

  • thats a gorgeous dress :)

you could try emailing landy or milly bridal with pics, to see if they can make the dress for you.

have you had a look at evans or ann harvey

  • There's some lovely stuff in Ann Harvey, I have some gorgeous stuff from there; but I really wanted something special that I wouldn't normally wear if you see what I mean.
Evans is the stuff I wear everyday so there's nothing special there.
There is a designer called Ann Balon that does similar outfits but they're way out of my price range and only certain ones go up to XXL which, depending on which shop site you look at can be anything from a 22 to 26!!!! There aren't any stockists near me so it's not worth travelling to see an outfit that I can't afford and might not fit anyway!
That's why I asked about Milly or Landy.

Sal-ad-daze - you shoudl email Milly and Landy and see what they say. I know they do larger sizes it's always worth asking.

That is a gorgeous outfit - I can see why you would choose it. Can I ask where it's from? (My mum has been looking for something similar)

  • Thanks for your help girls!
I'm still waiting for my lovely (ditsy!) daughter to finally decide her colours so I can take the next step! She's not sure if she's having adults and if so if they'll wear burgundy or silver, obviously if she decides to put them in silver it's not really ok for me to wear silver also is it?

Louise, I found the dress on ebay actually but there is a designer who makes very similar outfits called Ann Balon

her outfits also sell on ebay.

That's entirely up to your daughter, my mum and H2Bs mum are more than welcome to wear red (our wedding colour) - in fact I'd be happier if they did so that the photos are co-ordinated.:rotfl:
