Moving shares to another provider

I would normally have posted in the savings section but its swamped with Icesave threads.

My question is very simple - I have a couple of hundred shares in one name held in my name and need to move this.

Its a US stock and is denominated in dollars - Dividends are also paid in dollars

The shares have already been bought and are held in my name

Does anyone know of the cheapest way to move these so they are held elsewhere? I have an account with Hargreaves and Lansdowne but I m not sure whether they are reccomended?

Are these shares in certificate form or held at a broker? Do you want to move them or sell them? Does HL allow trading on foreign stock exchanges and what do they charge? Best to call them up and see if they can handle the deal and at what cost.

The shares are held by a broker - I dont believe there is a certificate but I could be mistaken
