Hi,
I recently sent a letter to a debt recovery agency stating that the debt was statue barred. I received a letter back from them saying that this debt would no longer be persued by them, they have since sold the debt onto another agency who have now written to me asking for payment.
Please could you advise me what to do next.

Did your statute barred letter refer to the requirement for them to remove your details and not to sell on the debt.
If so complain to the OFT, Trading Standard nearest the original DCAs address and the Information Commisioner re Data Protection. If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0 -
