Not sure what the future of the company is but the ones left behind after this glut of redundancies will have it really difficult TBH. He will probably be there to the bitter end if he doesnt go now.

He is not going to get a job straight away though as although he has loads of experience he would like some qualifications to back it up...........he supported me while I studied, its my turn to return the favour..its just going to be tight.

Just thought that if he hung around and got made redundant anyway his benefits etc would be better but ptobably not worth it if its going to be tough as that can really take it out of you.

What does he want to study?

Its engineering drawing using 3D computer aided design software, he is really good at it (from what I can see anyway) and he enjoys it too. After 20 years in that place he deserves some time just for him.

Plus he said that he would do all the jobs in the house that he hasnt got time to do because of work and even said he would do all the washing, ironing and cooking:T

Thanks Skinty:A I know I should be grateful for the position we are in but having our income more than halved is still a bit scary for me, especially the cutting down on wine bit;)

Honestly I do need to do something as none of my clothes fit me nicely anymore and I have muffin top on all of my waistbands, I refuse to buy the next size up

I need to get fit and banish the extra Lbs and drink more water......after I finish this wine though.

Jeez Louise, we must be twins! right down to finishing the wine first...;)

I did read on another thread that you should never leave things to "next month", "next monday" etc so need to jump in now and sort myself out. Exercise and a decent hairdo will be my starting point this week. Jinks, how about a couple of drinks in Glasgow sometime and we'll survey the local talent...:D
